Five PSNI Officers Named In King's Birthday Honours List
Five PSNI officers have been named in the King's Birthday Honours List.
Chief Superintendent Darrin Jones, Superintendent Kellie McMillan and Constable Valerie Robinson are to be awarded King"s Police Medals (KPM), while Detective Superintendent Ewan Anderson has been named a Member of the British Empire (MBE), and a British Empire Medal (BEM) has been awarded to a retired staff member who has requested no publicity.
• KPM - Chief Superintendent Darrin Jones
Chief Superintendent Darrin Jones has over 30 years' service and is currently the Belfast Area Co-ordinator and the service lead for Business Crime.
During his career he has held a number of positions including Area Co-ordinator for Derry City and Strabane and established many collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of organisations helping to build community confidence in policing.
ª KPM - Superintendent Kellie McMillan
Superintendent Kellie McMillan has over 20 years' service and is currently the District Commander for Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon.
She has held a number of posts during her career, including Area Commander for West Belfast, where she has shown dedication to enhancing local communities and building key stakeholder relationships.
• KPM - Constable Valerie Robinson
Constable Valerie Robinson has been a police officer for 36 years. In her current role she been responsible for planning and provided a critical role in organising policing operations for some of the largest and most complex events which have taken place across Northern Ireland.
• MBE - Detective Superintendent Ewan Anderson
Detective Superintendent Ewan Anderson has nearly 30 years' service.
Throughout his career he has demonstrated determination and focus to improving communities in both local policing roles, and more recently, as a senior detective. He has led on numerous serious and organised crime investigations.
Ewan was also the former President of Superintendents' Association.

Police Warn Of Rise Of Domestic Abuse Over Christmas
As part of their wider 'Tis' the Season Christmas' operation, the PSNI have highlighted a campaign to raise awareness of the signs of all types of domestic abuse and encouraging potential victims to report to Police, so that safeguarding action can be taken and the right support put in place.

A new campaign to raise awareness of the dangers for children online has been launched by the PSNI and the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI), on Safer Internet Day, Tuesday 6th February 2024. According to the PSNI, online sexual offences against children are becoming an increasing crime type in Northern Ireland.
