Alliance Express 'Sincere Condolences' On Death Of Child In Carrickfergus

Alliance East Antrim MLA Danny Donnelly has expressed his sincere condolences to the family of Scarlett Rosborough, the eight-year-old girl killed in a traffic collision in Carrickfergus.

Scarlett Rosborough from Larne died following the single-vehicle crash in the High Street area of the town around 11.40am on Wednesday. A second child has been taken to hospital with injuries.

"Words are little consolation at this time but my deepest and most sincere condolences go out to the family of Scarlett," said Mr Donnelly.

"To lose a loved one at such a young age is nothing other than an absolute tragedy and I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain they will be experiencing at this time. There is a sense of shock in the local community today following this tragedy.

"My thoughts are also with the other child injured and I hope they make a full recovery. My thanks go to the emergency services who attended the scene of this terrible incident. My heartfelt sympathies also go to them, as this cannot have been an easy situation to deal with.

"I urge anyone who was in the area at the time of this accident to come forward with information and give it to the PSNI."

Lurgan Job Losses 'Devastating News' – SF

Sinn Féin has expressed their concern at the announcement of up to 500 job losses at a Lurgan-based haulage company, Morgan McLernon after they were told the company is considering shutting down.

"It should not be lost on anyone  that the company has pinned much of the blame for this announcement on the Brexit fall-out.

"With no Economy Minister in place as a result of the boycott of the Executive by one party I will be contacting the Permanent Secretary at the Department of Economy to see what it can do to support the company and its workers."
