Seminar uncovers multi-million euro market opportunities
Invest Northern Ireland has urged local businesses to actively engage in research and development if they are to profit from multi-million euro market opportunities.
Hosting the recent seminar ‘Profiting from R&D’ at the Fitzwilliam International Hotel, Invest NI outlined how millions of Euros available under the EU Sixth Framework Programme could benefit innovative Northern Ireland companies, and encouraged them to submit proposals for funding.
Commenting on the seminar, Robert Bunn of Invest NI said: “Innovation is a key step in business success, however it can be a costly exercise for many organisations and this is where Invest NI can help.
"In the European arena, one of the greatest barriers to applying for funding is the application procedure itself and the purpose of this Invest NI seminar was to provide a step by step guide to proposal writing and submission.”
The EU Sixth Framework Programme provides the financial support necessary in assisting companies to create new services and products.
"Such developments are essential in allowing companies to maintain a competitive edge and to make a confident, successful entrance to newer, fast moving markets," Dr Bunn concluded.
