Maghera Security Alert Declared 'Elaborate Hoax'
A security alert in Maghera has been declared an "elaborate hoax".
The alert began shortly after 4:35pm on Sunday, 12 November, when it was reported to police that a suspicious object had been found at residential premises in the Sunnyside Drive area.
A number of homes in the area were evacuated, as police conducted a public safety operation. The object was examined at the scene before being declared a hoax and removed for further forensic examination.
Inspector Long said: "Our enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1103 12/11/23. Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. "

East Belfast Security Alert 'Nothing Untoward'
A security alert that closed a busy road in east Belfast on Thursday evening has been declared as "nothing untoward". Residents on the Belmont Road were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was discovered under a vehicle at Strathearn School. It's understood to have been found under a teacher's car.
