Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary
Police responding to a road traffic collision in L'Derry last night, Wednesday 20 March, arrested two men in connection with an earlier burglary in the area.
At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch. As they investigated the collision, officers discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from an address in Victoria Gate where a burglary had occurred earlier that same night. Officers found a number of items, including a television and a crowbar, believed to have been taken during the burglary.
Two men, aged 23 and 32, were subsequently in connection with both the burglary and the collision. Police have not released when or how the men were discovered and connected to the incidents.
The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, while the 32 year old was arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods. Both men remain in custody at this time, assisting police with their enquiries.
Police appeal to anyone who was in the Victoria Gate or Gortinure Road areas last night and saw any suspicious activity to get in touch. 19-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder In North Belfast
The PSNI have charged a 19-year-old man with attempted murder in connection with a number of incidents in north Belfast. It is understood the man has been detained following a knife attack at Annesley Street at around 4pm on Sunday 12 December. A number of other incidents followed on Vicinage Park and Cranburn Street.
