Infrastructure Minister Holds Meeting With Disability Action

Infrastructure Minister, John O'Dowd, has met with representatives of Disability Action to discuss issues of accessibility and inclusion in transport and travel.

Speaking following the meeting, Minister O'Dowd said: "I very much welcome the opportunity to discuss with Disability Action many issues of mutual interest, particularly ensuring that transport and travel is accessible and inclusive for all.

"The Disability Action Transport Scheme is a lifeline for many people across the north providing the vital transport connection for every-day appointments, including health appointments, and other commitments, that are often taken for granted. This along with the rural Dial-a-Lift service and Translink services cater for everyone to get out and about and live independently.

"I believe there are many opportunities to develop and improve public transport and active travel, I am fully committed to doing what I can to ensure that those opportunities are inclusive and accessible for everyone."
