Charity Building Set Alight In West Belfast
A major investigation has launched after a vehicle was rammed into the building of charitable organisation in West Belfast and set alight.
Shortly after midnight today, Tuesday 23 July, a suspected stolen Volkswagen Golf was reversed into the shutters of the building in the Townsend Street area before being set alight.
NI Fire and Rescue Service attended to extinguish the fire which has caused significant damage to the inside and outside of this section of the building.
An investigation is underway and officers have appealed to anyone with any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 19 23/07/24. Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who would have any dash-cam or CCTV footage of the Townsend Road or wider area around this time to get in contact.

East Belfast Bonfire Set Alight Hours After Court Order
A large bonfire in east Belfast was set alight hours after a court ordered its height to be reduced over safety concerns. On Tuesday, the High Court ruled the Department for Infrastructure must take steps to reduce the height of the Bloomfield Walkway bonfire to no more than three metres.

A man aged in 90s was left in need of treatment for smoke inhalation after two arson attacks in Downpatrick. Police are probing a link between two deliberate ignitions in the Killough Walk and Vianstown Heights area of the town, less than a mile from each other, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A couple have escaped injury after a car was set alight outside the back of their home in north Belfast on Wednesday. The male occupant of the house in Brompton Park said flames were burning only feet away from the gas meter of his home after youths set fire to a car at the back door of their property.
