Suspicious Object In East Belfast Declared A Hoax
A security alert in east Belfast on Wednesday, 18 September, has been declared a hoax.
The alert began shortly after 1.15pm when police received a report of a suspicious object in the Church Road area. The PSNI immediately launched a public safety operation, closing Church Road between Manse Road and the Ballygowan Road.
Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO) attended and examinations were carried out on the object, which was found to be a hoax. The object has since been removed for further forensic examination.
Following the operation, Inspector David McKinley said: "We understand the disruption this incident caused and I want to thank everyone impacted for their patience and co-operation while the scene was made safe.
"An investigation is underway and I would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 764 18/09/24."

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Security Alert In L'Derry
A suspicious object has been discovered on the outskirts of L'Derry. The object was found in a laneway off the Drunahoe Road. Police and army bomb experts are at the scene. The Drumahoe Road has been closed at its junctions with the Fincairn Road and Church Road.
