Teen treated for head injuries after punishment beating
An 18-year-old man has been treated in hospital for a head injury following what appears to have been a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast last night.
At around 9pm, the victim, and a number of other youths, were in an alleyway in the area of La Salle Park and Willowbank Park when a car pulled up at either end of the alley. A number of men got out of each car and the victim tried to run off.
However, as he did he fell to the ground where he was attacked and struck about the head with a baton. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Anyone with information should contact detectives at Grosvenor Road on 028 9065 0222 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
