PSNI Issues Traffic Warnings For Two Events On 09 March

Road users in south Belfast are advised to expect traffic disruption and potential delays this Sunday, 9th March, due to the Northern Ireland League Cup Final.

The match between Glentoran and Cliftonville will take place at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

Supporters travelling to the match are urged to allow ample travel time, as significant traffic congestion is anticipated in the area both before and after the game.

Those driving to the stadium are asked to park considerately, respecting local residents and businesses in the Donegall Avenue area. A build-up of traffic is expected near the stadium before and after the match.

Attendees are also reminded to be respectful and considerate when walking through residential streets surrounding the stadium. The areas around the National Stadium are designated 'No Street Drinking' zones under Belfast City Council by-laws.

Strabane Town Centre to Experience Traffic Disruption Due to Solidarity Walk

Road users in Strabane are advised to expect traffic disruption this Sunday, 9th March, due to the "Ending Violence Against Women & Girls Solidarity Walk."

The walk is scheduled to begin at 3pm and conclude at approximately 4pm. Participants will gather at Melvin Hall and proceed through the town centre, following a route that includes Melvin Road, Strabane Bridge, Market Street, Abercorn Square, Railway Street, Bradley Way, Bridge Street, Strabane Bridge, Upper Main Street, Meetinghouse Street and the Strabane footbridge back to Melvin Hall.

Police officers will be present to manage traffic flow, but motorists are advised to consider alternative routes to avoid potential delays.

M1 Collision Causes Traffic Delays In Belfast
A crash on the M1, which occurred at about 8am this morning and closed two lanes, has now been cleared. The collision happened on the inside lane of the M1 between Stockmans Lane and Broadway. There have been no reports of any injuries. Two lanes of the motorway were closed and caused significant traffic delays across the city.

Possible Traffic Disruption During Ulster Rugby Match
Police are warning of possible traffic disruption during the Ulster v Newport Gwent Dragons Pro 12 match at the Kingspan Stadium tonight, 05 February. They said there could be disruptions in the following areas - Cregagh Road, Mount Merrion Avenue, Knockbreda Road, Rosetta Park and Ravenhill Road between 5.30pm and 7.45pm and 9pm and 10.30pm.

High Pollution Over NI
High levels of air pollution are being monitored in the Belfast, Newry, Lisburn, Armagh and L'Derry areas, the Executive has announced. In addition, there are moderate levels of pollution being monitored in the North Down, Ballymena, Strabane and Lough Navar areas.
