Security Alert Ends At Cavehill
A security alert at Cavehill in the Antrim Road area of north Belfast has now ended.
Detective Inspector Michael McDonnell provided details of the incident: "At approximately 5.40pm on Tuesday 22nd April, police received a report that a suspicious object had been located in the area close to Belfast Castle."
He confirmed that officers attended the scene, along with Ammunition Technical Officers. "A number of viable pipe bomb type devices were discovered along with a quantity of ammunition," Detective Inspector McDonnell said.
He added that the devices have been made safe and removed from the scene for further forensic examination. Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and Detective Inspector McDonnell appealed for public assistance. "Our enquiries are ongoing and we appeal to anyone with any information that could assist with the investigation to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1200 22/04/25."

PSNI Seize Drugs Worth £100,000 Destined For NI
The PSNI have seized £100,000 worth of cannabis destined for Northern Ireland. The parcel, which was in the post, was intercepted in England on Saturday, 07 January. No arrests have been made, however a search has been carried out in the Greater Belfast area and further searches are planned, according to the police.

Mr James Shields, 52, was found dead at the side of the Shillinghill Road in the Markethill area on Monday, according to the police.
