St George's Twilight Market Returns To 'Spring Into Summer'
The hugely popular Twilight Market is set to return to Belfast's St George's Market later this month, promising two evenings dedicated to showcasing Northern Ireland's finest food producers, artists, and craftspeople.
The 'Spring into Summer' Twilight Market will take place on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st May, from 4 pm to 10 pm each day. The event aims to provide a magical atmosphere filled with great food, unique arts and crafts, and live music.
Over 100 traders will participate, offering visitors a chance to sample and purchase a wide array of local produce, including award-winning handmade chocolates, fudges, cheeses, chutneys, honey, coffees, cordials, rums, and ciders.
Alongside the culinary delights, stalls will feature locally produced artworks, handmade jewellery, antiques, and even products for pets, such as pet wear, treats, and food. A bar serving local beers, gins, and whiskeys will be open on both evenings. Live music will be provided by Davy Watson, Jackie Rainey, and Red Hot Roosters.
In a unique addition, Northern Ireland's newest MotoGP team, Lionheart Racing, will have their race motorbike on display. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the team, take photos with the bike, and contribute to fundraising efforts for the pancreatic cancer charity, NIPANC. The event will not only highlight the talents of St George's Market's established traders but will also provide an opportunity for businesses not currently holding stalls at the market to promote their products and services to a large audience.
Councillor Sam Nelson, Chair of Belfast City Council's City Growth and Regeneration Committee, said: "The Twilight Market is now in its tenth year and continues to attract thousands of visitors from near and far each time it is held. People love the buzz that the event always manages to generate in what is a truly unique setting."
He added: "These events are also a brilliant way of showcasing the amazing produce and creations of St George's Market's traders to people who may have never been to the weekly market or haven't been in years, so I would encourage everyone to come along for a fantastic night out where you'll be entertained while also having the chance to sample some great local food and drink."
Visitors to the Twilight Market are encouraged to use public transport. Lanyon Station is nearby, and Glider and Metro bus stops are conveniently located near St George's Market on Victoria Street and May Street. For more information on transport options, visit the Translink website.
Further details about the Twilight Market can be found on the Belfast City Council website at www.belfastcity.gov.uk/twilightbelfast.
