Appeal For Information Following Sexual Assault In Belfast City Centre
Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a sexual assault was reported in Belfast City Centre over the weekend.
Detective Inspector Bell stated that police received a report that a woman was sexually assaulted in the Pottingers Entry area between 2am and 3am on Friday, May 23rd.
Following the incident, the suspect and another male are believed to have fled in the direction of Dublin Road. An investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have any information that could assist their inquiry, to come forward.
The police can be contacted on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 542 of 23/05/25.

A bomb-blasted former soldier has appeared in court in Belfast charged with rape and false imprisonment. Gerald Verner, 23, of Forthriver Park, who was deafened by a bomb in Afghanistan, is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and threats to kill against the same woman.

A young woman reported being assaulted by a number of men near Londonderry Park on the Portaferry Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, 15 September. The incident was reported at around 6.25am.
