Appeal For Information After Armed Robbery In East Belfast
Detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a shop in east Belfast on Sunday, 20 July.
Detective Sergeant McCallum reported that police received a call around 22:15 stating that two men had entered a shop on the Ballygowan Road. One of the suspects was armed with a wooden mallet. The pair stole a sum of cash from the tills, leaving the female staff member shaken but physically unharmed.
Both suspects are described as being of heavy build. One was reported to be wearing a blue hooded top and shorts, white socks, and black sliders, and was carrying a green shopping bag. The second suspect was described as wearing a grey hooded tracksuit with white socks and no shoes.
Police believe the suspects approached from and left in the direction of Brentwood Park. Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area at the time, to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1543 of 20/07/25.
