Drive-by attack victim critical

Gardai in Dublin have found a burned out car which they believe was used in a drive-by shooting in the north of the city this morning (Friday).

A 24-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital following the shooting which took place shortly after midnight. The man was walking along the Leix Road in Cabra when a car pulled alongside him and several shots were fired. Despite being hit in the stomach, the victim made his way to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

Gardai later reported finding a burned out car in the Finglas area.

Earlier this week a man from Crumlin was shot twice in the Stillorgan area of the city, in a similar style of attack.
