Pensioner Dies In County Tyrone House Fire
A woman aged in her 70s has died following a house fire in Derrycush Park, Aughnacloy, County Tyrone.
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) responded to reports of the blaze at 5.50pm yesterday (6 August), with two appliances from Clogher Fire Station and one appliance from Dungannon Fire Station attending the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four hose reel jets to extinguish the fire which had occurred in the bungalow. Firefighters left the scene at 9.13pm.
A spokesperson for the NIFRS extended thoughts and sympathies to the loved ones of the woman and stated that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.

Ballymoney Factory Fire Declared 'Major Incident'
A fire at a former poultry factory in Ballymoney has been declared a major incident with more than 100 firefighters still at the scene. The fire was first reported at 4.45pm on Monday on the Ballymena Road. 15 pumping appliances and 10 specialist appliances attended the scene of the blaze.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Antrim Fire Station Officially Re-Opens
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service's Antrim Fire Station has officially re-opened following a £2.2 million refurbishment. Work began in March of last year to update the Castle Street site, which was originally built in 1953, to transform the building into a modern day fire station enhancing firefighter and public safety.

Newly-Refurbished Larne Fire Station Officially Re-Opens
The newly-refurbished Larne Fire Station has been officially re-opened by Health Minister Robin Swann. The station, in Agnew Street, was built in 1959 and has undergone a capital investment of £1.25million. During his visit, the Minister toured the building and met some of the 22 On-Call Firefighters based at the station.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.
