West Belfast UDA-Linked Drugs Operation Targeted By Police
The Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out a search operation in West Belfast, seizing a quantity of suspected Class B controlled drugs.
Three properties were searched in relation to drug supply activity linked to the West Belfast UDA. Detective Inspector Maguire said the task force will continue to work to "disrupt the activities of those who make their living from crime." He stated that paramilitary groups "use a regime of fear to exercise control over the most vulnerable in our society, and care nothing about the lives ruined along the way."
The Paramilitary Crime Task Force is a multi-agency body composed of the PSNI, the National Crime Agency, and HM Revenue & Customs. It was established to tackle all forms of criminality linked to paramilitarism.
The public can provide information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
