Enterprising Women Unveils Autumn/Winter Support Across Mid And East Antrim
A new season of the Enterprising Women programme has been launched to provide support, inspiration and networking opportunities for women in business across Mid and East Antrim.
Shaped by feedback from network members, the autumn/winter line-up is tailored to women at every stage of their business journey—whether starting up, scaling an established company or seeking to broaden professional connections.
The schedule includes hands-on workshops on finance, Meta Ads and confidence building, alongside a series of networking events designed to help participants exchange ideas, learn from peers and grow their ventures.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, said: "The positive impact of Enterprising Women is a valuable way to showcase the Council's investment in local entrepreneurs. The opportunities to improve confidence, expand networks and get any needed support allows female entrepreneurs from across Mid and East Antrim to strengthen our local economy. I'm delighted to see the new season programme launched and look forward to seeing even more women benefit from this fantastic initiative."
Established in 2018, the dedicated female business network now has more than 180 members across the Borough, spanning sectors including retail, tourism, artisan and professional services.
Kelli McRoberts, CEO of Carrickfergus Enterprise, added: "We have once again listened to our members and have put together an exciting programme of events, ensuring the topics and speakers truly reflect what matters to them. The continued growth of our network is fantastic and offers up new insights and networking opportunities. I look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new members to what promises to be a fantastic season ahead."

Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has defended L’Derry footballer James McClean’s decision not to wear a poppy during Sunderland’s defeat to Everton on Saturday. McClean’s decision not to wear the specially designed jersey with a sewn-in poppy received plenty of outrage on social networking sites.

Pair Fined Over Sectarian Facebook Comments
Two County Antrim men have been fined for posting sectarian comments on social networking site, Facebook. Matthew McKenna, 20, and Dean Boyd, 21, posted sectarian comments online including a call to kill all Catholics. Mckenna, from Lisnahilt Road, Broughshane, and Boyd of Skye Park in Ballymena were handed fines of £400 and £250 retrospectively.

Belfast Speed Networking event is big success
Belfast’s Biggest Speed Networking event took place at the Holiday Inn in Belfast last week. Two hundred and ten business people from around Ireland attended the event, which was hosted by B4B. Many attendees reported that the event resulted in new business with them shaking hands on deals that evening or at follow up meetings the next day.
