Three released as murder investigation continues
Three people questioned in connection with the murder of Darren Thompson in Londonderry last week have been released.
The two men and one woman were released without charge on Sunday, police said.
The 22-year-old victim, from Harkness Gardens in the Waterside, was found lying at the roadside in Woodburn Park last Wednesday morning with a bullet wound to the head. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
His devastated family had been keeping a bedside vigil for him at Altnagelvin Hospital. In a message relayed through local minister, the Right Reverend Ken Good, Mr Thompson’s family urged that “any thought of retaliation for his death must not be even considered”.
