Newtownabbey firm to invest in new jobs
A Newtownabbey based manufacturer of structural timber frame systems is to create 10 new jobs thanks to a £550,000 development project investment.
Unitek Ltd will boost its current employment levels to 35 following an increase in its exporting capability by 50% over the last three years.
The development project will allow the firm to increase their current marketing programme, employ new staff with specialist skills and has been instrumental in the company achieving the ISO9001:2000 certification.
Commenting on the plans managing director John Lyttle said: “By re-investing in our company we hope to further expand upon our exporting abilities and increase sales in the Republic of Ireland and the rest of the UK.
“The quality management accreditations will also help us to enhance our current reputation for quality with both existing and potential clients.”
The company will also be using the investment, co-funded by the EU Building Sustainable Prosperity fund, to help fund the development of one of their latest products, the ‘Uniweb’ steel and wood joist system - an innovative construction tool which will appeal to a broad base of the company’s clients.
Invest Northern Ireland offered the company selective financial assistance of £69,980 towards the £553,000 project.
