Boy injured by petrol bomb
A nine-year-old boy has been injured by what is thought to have been a petrol bomb thrown in the Lawnbrook Avenue area of north Belfast.
The boy sustained singed hair and burns to his face, but his injuries are not thought to be serious. Treated in hospital for burns, the boy has since been released.
A police spokesperson said that a lighted bottle of flammable liquid had been thrown, at around 9.00pm but it is not clear if the child had been the intended target.
A number of items were taken from the scene for forensic examination.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police at Antrim Road on tel. 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police Helicopter Finds Boys Lost On Black Mountain
A police helicopter has rescued two twelve-year-old boys from Black Mountain in west Belfast Police responded to a call at around 15:15 on Saturday, finding to the boys within thirty minutes. One of the rescue crew helped the pair to safety. Neither boy suffered any injuries and they were returned home by a police patrol.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

A 15-month-old boy has been injured after a brick was thrown through the window of a house in Ballymena on Wednesday night. The infant was in the living room when the incident occurred at a property on the Moat Road at around 11.30pm. Paramedics treated the boy at the scene, however he did not need to be taken to hospital.

Sturgan Road Closed For Collision Investigation Tests
The Sturgan Road outside Camlough will be closed for several hours this evening, Wednesday, 05 March, as police conduct scene testing following a fatal collision. Officers from the PSNI's Collision Investigation Unit will be carrying out tests related to a single-vehicle collision on 27 October, 2023, in which a 16-year-old boy died.
