Man dies at scene of factory blaze

More than 80 firefighters have been called to deal with a large fire at a factory in Co Londonderry on Thursday.

The blaze broke out at the Sperrin Metal's manufacturing facility in Draperstown at around 9pm and one man is believed to have died at the scene, however the death is not thought to be related to the fire.

The fire is thought to have started accidentally and around half of the factory has been extensively damaged.

Elsewhere, a fire at a church in Craigavon, Co Armagh, is being treated suspiciously by police.

The hall at St Saviour's Church of Ireland at Drumgor West Road was badly damaged in the blaze which was stopped from spreading throughout the whole of the church by local fire crews.

Man Jailed In Connection With Annahilt Cannabis Farm
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.
