New Glens of Antrim guide launched
A new guide aimed at highlighting the “natural delights” of the Glens of Antrim for modern audiences has been published today.
The region’s fairy-packed folklore is celebrated in the guide which has been prepared as a joint initiative between Causeway Coast & Antrim Glens, the local regional tourism authority, and Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust.
Launching the new publication, Don Wilmont, Manager of the Causeway Coast & Antrim Glens, said: “Research has shown us that visitors come here not just for the wonderful scenery and the many undoubted attractions of the area, but also for a more subtle magic that is all too rarely touched upon in tourism literature.
“We have focused on magic with this latest publication and have chosen to reflect on the character, legend and myth which combine with outstanding natural beauty to make this region so memorable. We hope that this new Guide to the Glens of Antrim will allow us to cast the spell of the Glens over audiences around the world.”
The publication, which includes practical maps and guides to the Glens of Antrim, also charts the geological history of a region which has been dramatically shaped by water, fire and ice.
The Guide, which also recounts the history of the people of the Glens, their music, poetry and culture, was funded by the Natural Resource Rural Tourism Initiative under the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation.

‘Masterplan’ to help north coast tourism
Around £10 million has been spent on an initiative to promote tourism on the Causeway Coast and the Glens of Antrim. The funding is part of a £50 million 10-year 'masterplan' to promote tourism in the area. A range of new projects will receive funding including water sports and new signposts for the Antrim coast road linking Belfast to Londonderry.

Causeway Coast and Glens area secures top tourism accolade
The Causeway Coast and Antrim Glens has been named one of Britain’s Top 10 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The popular Northern Ireland tourist destination secured the accolade in the Period Living & Traditional Homes magazine’s Best of British Awards 2004-05.

Lidl Northern Ireland Opens Two New Stores
Lidl Northern Ireland has announced the reopening of its Stewartstown Road store in West Belfast and the opening of a new store in Carryduff. The Stewartstown Road store, which has undergone a major redevelopment, will reopen on December 5th. The new Carryduff store, Lidl’s 43rd in Northern Ireland, will open on December 12th.
