Two pensioners treated for shock following separate burglaries
Two disabled pensioners have been treated for shock following separate burglaries in Belfast on Thursday night.
In the first incident three men entered a house at St James Parade in west Belfast at around 10.20pm and forced a man in his 70’s into a chair while they ransacked the property.
One of the assailants was armed with a claw hammer and had his face covered, however all three fled empty handed.
Meanwhile in the east of the city, a 91-year-old woman was forced to stay in the living room of her Melrose Avenue home, while three man ransacked the house.
It is believed a purse containing money was stolen. The pensioner was treated for shock but was uninjured.
Police have appealed for anyone with information on either incident to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimstoppers on 0800 555111.

Family treated for shock following break-in
A couple and their three teenage sons have been treated for shock after masked men broke into their Co Londonderry home last night. The incident occurred at the family's home in Main Street, Castledawson, at around 11.30pm when the three men forced their way into the house and demanded money.

Man Treated For Shock Following House Fire In Co Antrim
A man is being treated for shock following a fire at a house in Co Antrim. The blaze started shortly before noon today, 30 June, at a bungalow in Crumlin. The fire spread to a nearby oil tank and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes.

Armed gang kidnap Strabane family
An armed gang held a family hostage in their Co Tyrone home and forced a man to hand over the weekend takings from a shop, this morning. Three masked men forced their way into the house in the Ballycolman area in Strabane and confronted the family.

Three Men Stabbed In Donagh, Co Fermanagh
Three men are being treated in hospital following an incident in Donagh, County Fermanagh. It is understood that all three men were discovered with stab wounds when the PSNI responded to reports of an incident on the Lettergreen Road at about 6am this morning, Monday 06 December.
