Body uncovered following caravan fire

Police have uncovered a body following a fire in a caravan parked in the garden of a house in Co Antrim.

The body was discovered in the early hours of Friday at Taylor's Avenue in Carrickfergus, however fire investigators have yet to determine a cause of the blaze.

Elsewhere, two houses have been damaged in separate petrol bomb attacks in counties Antrim and Fermanagh.

In the first incident, a family escaped injury when three petrol bombs were thrown through the window of a house in Lower Celtic Park, Enniskillen.

In a second separate attack a device was thrown through the window of a house in Brookfield Gardens, Ahoghill. A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.

Police Investigate Shooting Incident In L'Derry
Detectives are appealing for information after a young man was shot in the Creggan area on Wednesday night, November 27th. Shortly after 10:10 PM, police received a report that the man, in his late teens, had been shot in the leg. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.

NIFRS Launches Online Home Fire Safety Check Tool
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Community Centre In L'Derry
A petrol bomb has been thrown at a community centre in Co L'Derry. The device was thrown at the Dove House building at around 11.30pm on Thursday, 18 August. Scorch damage was caused to the front of the building. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
