Two men to appear in court over football riot

Two men have been charged with riotous behaviour following last month’s trouble at the Glentoran versus Linfield Irish league fixture at the Oval.

The men, who are expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday, were allegedly involved in serious crowd trouble which saw rival throw missiles and fight hand to hand battles on the pitch at the end of the game.

Last week, a 20-year-old man appeared in court accused of riotous behaviour in connection with the same incident.

Steven Moore, from Hood Court in Antrim, was released on bail on condition that he does not attend Irish league games, abstains from alcohol and reports to the police three times a week.
