Young girl escapes abduction attempt
A 12-year-old girl has escaped an abduction attempt in west Belfast on Wednesday.
The driver of what was described by police as a "distinctive" black four-door car shouted at the girl to get into his vehicle on the Shaw's Road at about 9.15pm. The girl immediately screamed and ran off.
The driver of the car, which had a neon light underneath and is believed to have turned at Rossgoil Park and headed back towards the city centre, is described as having a moustache, sovereign ring and a hoop earring.
He was wearing a blue shirt and baseball cap, with the word Budweiser on it, over jaw length hair. He was also wearing sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the car or its occupant or was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact police on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 13-year-old girl in the Fruithill area of Andersonstown yesterday afternoon. The girl was with two friends when an old type navy Vauxhall Nova approached them. A passenger in the vehicle opened his door and tried to coax her into the car. However, the girl ran away and the car sped off.
