Police appeal following serious assault in Derry
Police are appealing for information after a man was left with serious facial injuries following an assault in the Galliagh area of Londonderry on Sunday night.
Details of the attack were released today and it is believed that three men assaulted the victim at the rear of St Joseph's Church, which is know locally as the White Chapel, at around 9.00pm on Sunday.
A police spokesperson said that the victim has extensive facial injuries and may be hospitalised for some time.
Police have appealed for anyone in the area around the time of the attack or who may have information to contact detectives them on 028 7136 7337 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police Appeal After Man Is Attacked In Newlodge Area
Police are appealing for information following the report of an assault in the Edlingham Street/Newlodge Road area of Belfast last Thursday. At approximately 9.30pm a male was assaulted by 4/5 unknown males. He received facial injuries which required hospital treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Injured Man Found In Street After Assault
A man has been hospitalised for injuries he sustained in an attack in Larne. The victim was found in the Point Street area of the County Antrim town at around 10.35pm last night, Wednesday 22 May. He had been assaulted a short time earlier close to the underpass and suffered serious facial injuries.
