Mother and son escape injury in petrol bomb attack
A mother and son have escaped injury in a petrol bomb attack at their home in south Belfast overnight.
Two devices were thrown through the living room window of their house in Laurelgrove Dale, Castlereagh, shortly after midnight. Both failed to ignite however scorch damage was caused to the front of the property.
Detectives have appealed for information and want anyone who may have seen a light-coloured car in the area prior to the attack to contact them.
Elsewhere, police are appealing for information after a 15-year-old girl claimed she was sexually assaulted in west Belfast last month.
The attack is said to have occurred on 23 September however the victim has only now confided in a relative about what happened.
She said she was grabbed from behind by a man close to St Louise's school on the Glen Road and indecently assaulted. A struggle then ensued and the girl was dragged into the grounds of Glen Mona Resource centre where she was raped.
The assailant is described as being in his 30s, of chubby build with dark hair. He had a distinctive short, bushy moustache, bushy eyebrows and two dents either side of his nose. His right ear was also pierced.

Arson Attack At West Belfast School
Police are appealing for information following an arson attack at a school in the Glen Road area of Belfast on Monday. Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said: "At approximately 9.45pm Police received a report that three portacabins had been entered and set on fire. As a result of the fire the portacabins were completely destroyed.

Man suffers suspected fractured skull in attack
A man has suffered a suspected fractured skull after being attacked in north Belfast on Sunday. The 22-year-old man was walking along the Cliftonville Road when two men got out of a passing car and attacked him. Police believe a number of women were also in the car and have appealed for information on the attack. No motive has yet been established.

Detectives are appealing for information after three cars were destroyed in an arson attack in The Brae area of Ballygowan on Sunday evening, January 26th. Police received a report from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service shortly before midnight that the vehicles had been engulfed in flames.

Woman sexually assaulted in Derry attack
Police in Londonderry have appealed for information following a serious sexual assault on a woman in the city in the early hours of this morning. The attack happened close to a licensed premises at Rock Terrace in the Strand Road area between 3am and 3.30am this morning.
