Teenager charged with raping woman
A teenager has appeared in court today charged with the rape of a woman and attempted rape of her six-year-old daughter in Co Antrim.
The 17-year-old male faced 15 charges linked to a break-in at a house in Lisburn in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also charged with gross indecency against the child as well as threatening to kill the mother and the girl and possession of a knife.
A detective told Lisburn Magistrates` court that when charged, the teenager made no reply to the rape charge and said: "No" to the remaining 14 charges.
However, the officer told the court he believed he could connect the accused to the charges.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court by video link on December 6.
