Pet donkeys stolen in Tandragee

A family from Tandragee in County Armagh have described their trauma on discovering that their four pet donkeys had been stolen on Sunday.

The four donkeys were all in foal and the family have appealed for the animals safe return. Maggie is a dark brown coloured long-haired donkey. Nellie is a long-haired grey and brown coloured donkey and is inseparable from her donkey friend Blaney. Blaney is a short haired and dark brown nearly black in colour.

The fourth animal stolen, Tessa, is a rescue animal and has been nursed back to health by her owners. She is a grey short-haired donkey with a distinctive cross pattern on her back.

Police said that the donkeys were removed from a shed and driven away in a steel and blue twin axel trailer used by the owners to transport them.

Police are keen to trace the animals as quickly as possible and are urging anyone who has been offered a donkey for sale matching any of these descriptions or anyone who has information regarding the animals to come forward.

Contact police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
