Man in hospital after Magherafelt assault
A 23-year-old man is being treated in hospital following an assault in Magherfelt at the weekend.
The attack is understood to have taken place in the Diamond and Market Street area of the town at around 1.20am on Sunday.
The victim sustained injuries to his head during the incident and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Detectives are investigating CCTV footage of the area and have revealed that there were a number of people in the vicinity at the time of the attack.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

NI Misses Cancer Treatment Targets
Northern Ireland's hospitals have failed to meet target times for the treatment of patients referred for suspected cancer, a new report by the Department of Health revealed. Its guidelines say 95% of patients should begin their treatment within 62 days. Last December however, the figure stood at 81%, which was the third monthly fall in a row.

Four Injured In North Belfast Attack
Police have held two men on suspicion of attempted murder following an attack in north Belfast. The incident occurred in the Woodvale Drive area on Sunday morning. The suspects, aged 26 and 32, were arrested after being treated in hospital for their injuries.

Two treated in hospital after Ballymena attack
Police in County Antrim have appealed for information following an assault yesterday evening in which two men were injured. The incident happened in the Cushendall Road area of Ballymena at around 8.15pm, when the men aged 20 and 44-years-old came under attack. The pair were taken to hospital where the 20-year-old was treated for head injuries.
