Masked gang attacks men in bar

Police in County Antrim have appealed for information following an assault in a bar at the weekend.

Police have reported that a gang of around ten masked men, armed with baseball bats, entered a bar on the Main Street area of Cullybackey, and began to wreck it.

It is understood that the gang attacked two men who were in the bar at the time, before fleeing from the establishment.

A police spokesperson has said that the bar was busy at the time of the incident and have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or who may have any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Guns stolen in Co Antrim assault
Police are appealing for information after a gang assaulted a man and stole his guns in Co Antrim. The masked men forced their way into the man's home in Burnbrae in Bushmills at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning. They hit the man before tying his hands behind his back and escaping with three guns.

Woman Attacked With Metal Bar In Ballycastle
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a woman was attacked with a metal bar in the early hours of Sunday 19 August in Ballycastle, Co Antrim. A 27-year-old was attacked at about 1.45am on Fairhill Street. A 29-year-old man has been detained in connection with the incident. Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident.

Two men arrested in connection with McCartney murder
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney earlier this year. The men are also being question by police about the attempted murder of Mr McCartney's friend, Brendan Devine, and the circumstances surrounding the incident which took place on January 30.

Pensioners robbed in separate incidents
A pensioner has been attacked and robbed in his home in north Belfast yesterday evening. The 65-year-old man was in the living room of his Carntall Road home, in Newtownabbey, when three men burst in at around 5pm. The men demanded money and beat the man across the head and body with an iron bar.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
