Almost 200 jobs could go in Fermanagh
Almost 200 jobs could be axed if a County Fermanagh food plant is forced to close.
Moy Park foods has said that it has entered into talks with staff over the possible closure of its factory, formerly known as Ferne Foods, in Lisnaskea.
It is understood that the closure could happen due to high competition in the market, with cheaper imports meaning that the factory is no longer viable.
A statement from the company said: "The factory's size and output cannot justify the constant high levels of capital investment to stay competitive."
The plant produces frozen, breaded chicken and processed egg products, and employs approximately 188 people, 137 of which are full time staff.
Staff wishing to remain employed by the company will be offered work at the company's other plants in Dungannon, Craigavon, and Moira.
The consultation process is likely to take at least three months and the company said that it would be concentrating on the larger facilities to remain within a competitive market.

NIHE Building Firm In Administration
A building firm which carried out repair work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) has gone into administration. According to the Belfast Telegraph, Mel Davison Construction said increased financial pressures were to blame for the move. The Belfast and Portadown-based company currently employs around 150 staff.

Workers strike at Armagh cheese factory
Around 100 workers at a County Armagh cheese factory are expected to go on strike today. It is understood that the dispute at the factory, which is one of the largest mozzarella cheese manufacturers in Europe, is over a 3% pay offer.

90 Jobs At Risk In Lisburn Bottling Plant
Up to 90 jobs are at risk at a Coca-Cola bottling plant in County Antrim, the BBC has reported. The US-based drinks giant plans to outsource its Northern Ireland distribution to another company, as part of a company-wide restructuring. The firm told staff at the Knockmore plant near Lisburn they would enter into a 30-day consultation period.
