Flamenco fun entertains Foyleside shoppers

A weekend of Flamenco comes to Foyleside Shopping centre with the launch of the ‘Summer in the City’ art and music events.

Foyleside shopping centre has joined forces with Latinomaniac to kick off in spectacular style a weekend of entertainment known as ‘Summer in the City’. Latinomaniac will be making their first appearance in Northern Ireland and will perform salsa and cha-cha-cha for shoppers.

The entertainment planned from Saturday to Monday will also feature dancing lessons for shoppers, break dancing and urban dance DJ’s and circus performances.

“We are delighted to have such a diverse programme of entertainment for what will be a weekend of fun at Foyleside. We are encouraging everyone, over the weekend, to take the opportunity to visit Foyleside Shopping Centre and see a dazzling performance by Flamenco dancers Latinomaniac,” says Des Farrell, Centre Manager of Foyleside Shopping Centre. “We will be truly celebrating summer in the city this weekend at Foyleside with entertainment which will appeal to all ages”.

Two arrested in connection with Derry hammer attack
Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack on a man in Londonderry yesterday evening. The victim is reported to have been beaten with hammers and a crowbar in a busy shopping centre in the city at around 6.30pm.

Dunnes Stores to axe 60 staff at Foyleside
At least 60 jobs are set to go at Dunnes Stores in Londonderry. Staff at the firm's Foyleside shopping centre store were told the redundancies would commence at the end of next month. A spokesperson for the TGWU said it was "shocked" to hear of the news and that it was pretty upset that Dunnes had not consulted with them over the redundancies.

M&S to create 600 part-time Xmas jobs
Marks & Spencer is set to create over 600 part-time jobs in Northern Ireland during the Christmas period. However, instead of the usual in-house interviews, interested applicants only have to take part in a simple 20-minute telephone interview to apply for a position.

Derry City retailers prepare for €uro countdown
