Downpatrick pensioner robbed in home
Police have appealed for information after a pensioner was robbed in his home in County Down.
Two men, one armed with a stick, broke into the 82-year-old man's home in the Killough Road area of Downpatrick at around 6am this morning.
Police have said that the robbers broke a rear kitchen window with a brick, then prized it open before entering the property.
They then rifled through the house before entering the victim's bedroom where he lay asleep in bed.
The thieves pulled a panic alarm off the man's arm as he lay there, then made their escape, taking with them the pensioners wallet, which contained a small sum of cash.
Detectives in Downpatrick have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who may have any information in relation to it, to contact them on 028 44 615011, or 0845 600 8000.
Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
