Derry strikers return to work
A week-long strike at a Londonderry packaging firm has ended.
Last Thursday, 75 workers from the Perfecseal medical packaging plant were sacked after they took part in an unofficial and unlawful industrial action.
Over the past week union representatives and Perfecseal management have taken part in negotiations to resolve the dispute, however yesterday the trade union Amicus threatened to make the protest official within a week if the situation was not resolved.
Last night, a breakthrough was made and this morning a trade union official put the deal to workers which was accepted by a majority vote.
The employees will return to work this afternoon.
Keith McCracken, from Perfecseal, said: "All workers will return to work and that's the key part.
"The future will be determined by being competitive at work and competing out there, doing great things with great people."

The new Northern Ireland Secretary of State has been called to start work immediately and to recognise that the majority of people living in NI voted to remain in the European Union (EU). Alliance Leader David Ford made the call after the new UK Prime Minister Theresa May selected James Brokenshire for the role.

As the landscape at Redlands in Larne changes to turn the site of the former Ferrymasters depot into a £20 million store, a spokesman for the supermarket giants confirmed that construction work was "progressing well".

'Transform for Change' Project Hosts Finale Event
A special event has been held in Belfast to mark the finale of the EU-funded PEACE IV 'Transform for Change' project. NICVA delivered the 'Transformative Leadership' element of the programme along with local partners - East Belfast Community Development Agency, Falls Community Council, Forward South Partnership and West Belfast Partnership Board.
