Man seriously assaulted in Castledawson
Police in County Londonderry have appealed for information following a serious assault in the area over the weekend.
A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was assaulted by a group of males after a disturbance outside his home in the New Row area of Castledawson, at around 2.15am on Sunday morning.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head, arms and back. His head wound required staples and he was treated for three fractures to his right hand.
He remains in a stable condition.
Police arrested three males following the incident, who have since been released on bail.
A number of items were also taken away for forensic examination.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information in connection with it, should contact detectives in Magherafelt on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

The 48-year-old victim was targeted outside a pub on Main Street shortly after 1am on Sunday morning, 18 August. He was left with serious injuries to his head and face.

A man has been seriously assaulted by a number of masked men in Co Antrim. The incident occurred on 17 May at approximately 11.30pm in Adelaide Avenue, Whitehead. It is understood the attackers dragged the 20-year-old male from his flat into a communal hallway. The victim was then assaulted with hammers and a hatchet.
