Two released in Bangor murder probe
Two men arrested in connection with the murder of a man in County Down last month, have been released without charge.
The men were arrested yesterday by detectives investigating the murder of 36-year-old Mark Christie who died after being seriously assaulted in Bangor.
Mr Christie's body was found in Owenroe Drive, near Woburn Muse in the Kilcooley estate shortly after on 11pm on August 22.
It has been reported that he was attacked by up to six men who may have been armed with machetes or hatchets.
Mr Christie, from the Whitehill area of Bangor, was given a suspended jail term on charges of assault the week before his death, however police have not confirmed if the murder was linked to this.
A number of people have been arrested in connection with the murder, however have all since been released without charge.

Three men arrested in connection with Christie murder
The police major investigations team along with uniformed police officers in Bangor District Command Unit have arrested three men in connection with the murder of Mark Christie last year. A spokesperson for the PSNI conformed that the three men were arrested in the Bangor, County Down, earlier today, however there are no further details as yet.

Fourth man arrested in murder probe
Police investigating the murder of a man in County Down on Tuesday evening, have arrested a fourth man. Yesterday, three men were also taken into custody in connection with the killing. Mark Christie, 36, was found on the road near the junction of Owen Roe Drive in the Kilcooley Estate, and the Millisle Road in Bangor, shortly after 11pm.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested today, Wednesday 22 February, in connection with the murder of Liam Christie in October 2022.
