Pensioner dies after being knocked down
A pensioner has died after being knocked down by a van in Co Antrim yesterday evening.
The woman, who has been named as 75-year-old Mary Noris, died as she walked along the Ballymoney Road close to her home in Ballymena at about 6.30pm.
It is understood a transit van was involved in the accident.
Elsewhere, police are investigating the theft of about 100 road works signs worth an estimated £10,000 in the Omagh area. Police say the theft of the signs, which went missing six weeks ago, was placing road users at serious risk given that they were vital to warn motorists of road works.
