Man remanded over pensioner's murder
A 36-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a County Down pensioner earlier this week.
Robert George Harvey, of Barnagh Park in Donaghadee, appeared at Newtownards Magistrates court, charged with the murder of 77-year-old Tilly Campbell, also from Barnagh Park, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Mrs Campbell's body was found by fire-fighters who were called to her house following reports of a fire at around 6am.
The defendant pleaded guilty when the charge was put to him.
He was remanded in custody until November 10.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Man Extradited From Ireland To Face Serious Charges
A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. The alleged offences occurred in the Monaghan area between 2020 and 2021.
