Gardai make Omagh bomb arrest
A Co Monaghan man is due to appear at Dublin's Special Criminal Court today charged with membership of an illegal organisation.
Gardai investigating the 1998 Omagh bomb attack which killed 29 people, arrested 32-year-old Seamus Daly in Inniskeen yesterday.
A garda spokesman said that the arrest relates to the "bombing or matters arising from it".
The Real IRA bomb in Omagh in 1998 killed 29 people including a mother with unborn twins. Only one person has been jailed in relation to bombing – Colm Murphy was sentenced to 14 years at Dublin Special Criminal Court a year ago for conspiracy.
The relatives of the victims have expressed their frustration at the lack of progress being made by police in Northern Ireland and have launched a civil action against the men they say were responsible for the atrocity.
The alleged leader of the Real IRA Michael McKevitt, and Liam Campbell, Colm Murphy, Seamus McKenna, and Seamus Daly have all been subpoenaed to appear in court.
The families are suing the five men for £10 million in damages.

Police to re-interview man in connection with Omagh bomb
Police want to re-interview a man accused of being involved in the 1998 Omagh bomb atrocity. Sean Gerard Hoey, 34, from, Jonesborough was charge last September with a number of terrorist offences, one of which relates to the 1998 bomb attack which killed 29 people.

Omagh Bomb: Retrial Begins
A civil retrial of two men being sued for their part in the 1998 Omagh bombing has begun. Colm Murphy, from Dundalk, and Seamus Daly, from County Monaghan, are currently defending legal action taken against them by relatives of some of the 29 people killed in the explosion.

Omagh Bombing Memorial Service Held
A memorial service has been held to mark the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Omagh bombing. The names of the 29 people killed in the attack in August, 1998, were read one by one as wreaths were laid at the memorial gardens in the Co Tyrone town.
