Major jobs boost for Belfast
Financial services firm Citigroup have today announced the creation of almost 200 jobs in Belfast.
Citigroup, a leading American software company, today revealed that the 185 jobs will be based at their technology centre at Queen's Island in Belfast, increasing the number of people employed there to 590.
It is understood that the new investment would contribute an additional £21 million to the local economy, and Invest Northern Ireland has offered an additional £3.6 million in financial assistance.
Robert Druskin of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking said its Belfast centre has delivered significant benefits to the company's global operations and added that
with the rapid development of the Belfast operation, Citigroup are now in a position to strengthen their presence with a second major investment.
He concluded: "We are confident that through our renewed commitment to this region we will continue to add value both to Citigroup and the NI economy."

Citigroup to expand Belfast operation
US-owned financial company Citigroup has announced an expansion of its Belfast operation. The company is planning to set up a new division in Belfast with the creation of over 100 jobs by the end of the year. The Invest NI backed expansion has attracted a grant of £1.6 million.
