Police appeal after three separate attacks

Police in Belfast are investigating two separate shooting incidents and the discovery of an explosive device over the weekend.

At around 9pm on Saturday evening, a shot was fired through the living room window of a house in Carmeen Drive in the Rathcoole area of Newtownabbey. The house was unoccupied at the time.

Army Technical Officers were then tasked to examine a suspect pipe bomb-type device that was found at a house on the Albert Road, Carrickfergus. The device, which was discovered just after midnight, had failed to explode and was taken away for further examination.

Elsewhere, at around 1am a number of shots were fired through the front door of a flat at Kilmory Gardens, in the Tullycarnet area of Dundonald. The male occupant of the flat escaped uninjured.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have information on any of the above incidents to come forward.
