Family tied up during County Down robbery
Detectives in County Down, have appealed for information following an aggravated burglary yesterday evening when a family were tied up by thieves.
The incident happened shortly after 7pm, when the family of four adults – the parents aged in their 50s and the children aged in their 20s, were at their home in the Drumhirk Drive area of Comber, when four masked men, two of whom were armed with guns, burst into the house.
The robbers, who were all wearing gloves, then proceeded to tie the family up and demanded that they hand over money.
They remained in the house for approximately 30 minutes, before making off practically empty handed – taking with them only a set of keys.
The family were not injured during the robbery, however were left badly shaken by the ordeal.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who noticed anyone behaving suspiciously in the area around the time of the robbery, are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 00800 555 111.

Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Arrests After Antrim Armed Robbery
Four people are being questioned by police in relation to an armed robbery at a Co Antrim home. Two men aged 27, a 43-year-old man and a woman, 44, have been arrested in connection with the robbery of the family at Dundrod, outside Lisburn on Monday afternoon.

Pearson condemns racist attacks
Security minister Ian Pearson has condemned a racist attacks in the Portadown area as "utterly deplorable" following an attack on a Portuguese family at the weekend. Three apartments in the Moeran Park area of Portadown were smashed in by a gang of men in the early hours of Saturday morning.
