Hunt continues for dog that attacked woman

CCTV footage has been released in an attempt to identify a dog which attacked a woman in Donegall Street last Thursday.

The German Shepherd-type dog was with a man who also appears to have had a second large dog, possibly a Samoyed or Husky with him. Neither animal appeared to be on a leash.

The woman was treated for shock and minor injuries in hospital following the unprovoked attack by the dog.

Interviewed on BBC Radio the woman said that dog had dragged her to the ground by the arm and had then bitten her on the head and legs.

The man who was with the dogs was of stocky build and was wearing a dark coloured coat and a light coloured beanie hat.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Belfast City Council dog warden service on 028 9027 0431 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
