Man injured during armed robbery
One man has been injured following an armed robbery at an off-licence in south Belfast yesterday evening.
The incident happened at around 6pm, when two masked and armed men entered the premises in the Ormeau Road area of the city and threatened a male member of staff.
One of the robbers ordered the employee to empty the contents of the till, before bringing him into a back room, assaulting him and demanding that he open a safe.
The pair then made off with an undisclosed sum of money and were later seen in a alley adjacent with Haypark Avenue.
The first man is described as being aged in his 40s, between 5'7 and 5'8, of average build and had ginger/dirty fair coloured hair which was slightly greying. He was wearing a hooded top and fluorescent trousers.
The second man is said to be between 5'10 and 6 feet tall, of average build and was also wearing a hooded top. Both men are said to have had local accents and had boot polish on their faces.
The staff member was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, however was later discharged.
Police investigating the incident have removed a number of items from the premises for forensic examination and have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or have any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.
