Police appeal after Bangor murder

Police have launched a murder enquiry following an early morning shooting incident in Bangor, Co Down.

Twenty-eight-year-old Richard Hamill from Cleland Park Central in Bangor, died from gunshot wounds following the incident that occurred in a house at St Gallen Court shortly after 4am on Sunday.

Detectives investigating the murder have issued an urgent appeal for information about thirty-four-year-old William Moore – also known as ‘Billy the Boxer’ – whom they believe can assist them with their enquiries.

He is described as being 5’6 to 5’8 tall of stocky build. He has short dark hair and has a broken nose. When last seen he was wearing denim trousers and a denim jacket.

Police believe that Mr Moore may be armed and are advising members of the public not to approach him.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police urgently.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

28-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Violent Ballymena Attack
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a stabbing incident in Ballymena. A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries to his head, neck and stomach after he was reportedly attacked at his home in the Grove Road area. The incident is said to have taken place shortly after 4am this morning.

Man Fatally Stabbed In Bangor
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Bangor, County Down. According to reports, police responded to an incident on Beatrice Street in the town shortly after midnight, Wednesday 14 July. Upon arrival at the scene a 53-year-old man was found with stab wounds.

Man Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A man in his 60s has died in a road collision in Co Down. The driver of a Renault Clio car was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat on the Cotton Road just outside Bangor shortly after 11am on Tuesday, 21 February. The crash happened near to Six Road Ends.
