Security guard robbed in Carryduff
A security guard has been robbed at knifepoint in Carryduff, County Down.
The incident occurred when the man was delivering money to a bank in the area of Carryduff Shopping Centre at around 12.45pm.
It is believed a man carrying a knife approached the security guard, and then forced him to hand over the cash box which contained an undisclosed sum of money.
The thief then got into a maroon Vauxhall Astra car, with the registration number MDZ 4442, driven by a second male.
The man is described as being in his early 20's, of medium to slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved top with a reflective yellow vest and a pair of light blue jeans.
The car was later found abandoned in the Killynure road area of Carryduff.
Castlereagh police have appealed for any witnesses with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or call the confidential Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
