Enterprise Minister welcomes 150 new jobs in Derry
Enterprise Minister, Maria Eagle, today welcomed Axa Insurance’s announcement to establish a major customer contact centre in Derry, creating 150 new jobs.
The £15m investment, to be located at Northlands Road, will service Axa’s business throughout the island of Ireland.
The call centre is set to open in May and is supported by Invest Northern Ireland, who is providing £1.5 million towards the costs.
Maria Eagle said: “Today’s announcement will make a major contribution to the economy of the North West.
“Axa is the latest company which Invest Northern Ireland has attracted to the North West, and will join with other recent investors such as FirstSource, in delivering customer service solutions from a North West base.
She continued: “The company’s decision to invest in Northern Ireland will contribute to the further development of the Northern Ireland financial services sector, as globally recognised companies, such as Axa, Citigroup, Capita and HBoS are attracted by our business friendly environment, location and the skills of our workforce.”
